Times Electric has equipped the Chinese standard high-speed train set, which runs at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, with a "Chinese core".
Recently, the IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) modules custom-made by CRRC Times Electric for China's standard high-speed trains at 350 km/h have completed testing and all ground trials, and will soon replace imported products, equipping China's standard trains.
IGBT is the core device for energy conversion and transmission, commonly known as the "CPU" of power electronic devices. As a strategic emerging industry in the country, it has extensive applications in fields such as rail transit, smart grids, aerospace, electric vehicles, and new energy equipment, with its technology and market historically monopolized by foreign countries. Currently, the IGBT modules used in China's standard trains are still imported from abroad.
This time, the 750A/6500V high-performance IGBT module developed by Times Electric has completed verification, which means that soon, trains designed and manufactured according to Chinese standards will be equipped with "Chinese chips" that have completely independent intellectual property rights.
