　　Han Zheng stated that in September 2015, President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the United Nations Development Summit, proposing the construction of a global energy internet to meet global electricity demand in a clean and green way, providing a Chinese solution for the world's energy transition and sustainable development. Over the past decade, this initiative has been highly recognized and actively responded to by the international community.

　　Han Zheng pointed out that currently, the global energy system is undergoing profound changes, with accelerated low-carbon transformation of the energy structure. China has always been a steadfast actor and important contributor to global green development. Facing new changes and trends, President Xi Jinping proposed a new energy security strategy of "Four Revolutions and One Cooperation," which points the way for China's energy development in the new era and opens a new path with Chinese characteristics.

　　Han Zheng put forward four proposals. First, jointly promote the green and low-carbon transformation of energy. Deepen cooperation in renewable energy power generation, grid interconnection, smart energy, and other fields to effectively implement the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and its Paris Agreement. Second, jointly promote energy technology innovation. Collaborate on research and development of clean energy utilization technologies, and promote deep integration of energy power with modern information technology, new materials, and advanced manufacturing. Third, jointly promote sustainable energy development. Strengthen cooperation on energy accessibility and help developing countries improve their energy security capabilities and levels. Fourth, jointly promote cooperation in energy resources and production capacity. Promote cross-national and cross-regional energy infrastructure connectivity to achieve complementary advantages and mutual benefits.

 

 

　　This conference is an important event marking the 10th anniversary of the Global Energy Internet Initiative. It officially opened on September 8, lasting three days, with one plenary session, 24 parallel forums, and one achievement exhibition.

　　Xin Baoan, Chairman of the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization and Chairman of the China Electricity Council, presided over the plenary session on the morning of the 9th and delivered a keynote speech. Liu Zhenmin, UN Climate Change Envoy, and Yuan Da, Secretary-General of the National Development and Reform Commission, attended and spoke at the conference. Xiao Zonghui, member of the Party Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, also attended.

 

 

　　Xin Baoan stated that over the past ten years since the Global Energy Internet Initiative was proposed, the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (referred to as the "Cooperation Organization") has remained true to its original mission, upheld the banner of green and low-carbon development, and with strong support from the United Nations, governments, enterprises, and institutions worldwide, has promoted the Global Energy Internet from an initiative to action and from concept to reality. The initiative has been incorporated into the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, the Paris Agreement on climate change, biodiversity protection frameworks, and has been included in the UN sustainable development policy recommendation reports for six consecutive years. It has been integrated into multilateral mechanisms such as the Belt and Road Initiative, China-Arab cooperation, China-Africa cooperation, and the Clean Energy Ministerial, gaining broad recognition and active support from over 100 countries and international organizations.

　　Xin Baoan proposed five actions to accelerate the construction of the Global Energy Internet. First, accelerate the reliable substitution of clean energy by promoting large-scale and efficient development of various clean energy sources, improving the economic viability and reliability of clean energy power generation, and achieving comprehensive replacement of fossil energy. Second, accelerate the new electrification process by promoting comprehensive and deep replacement of fossil energy with green electricity and power-to-hydrogen in industries such as industry, construction, transportation, agriculture, and residential life. Third, accelerate energy and power interconnection by strengthening cross-national and cross-continental grid interconnections, promoting digital and intelligent transformation and upgrading of power grids, and optimizing the allocation of clean energy on a larger scale, with higher efficiency and lower cost. Fourth, accelerate technological and industrial innovation development by focusing on key areas of energy transition such as new energy, new energy storage, digital and intelligent resilient grids, and coordinated source-grid-load-storage, promoting deep integration of the global clean energy industry chain, innovation chain, and value chain. Fifth, strengthen international cooperation in energy and power by promoting policy communication and coordination among countries, deepening energy trade and production capacity cooperation, building a fair, just, balanced, and inclusive global energy governance system, and ensuring that the benefits of transition development are shared by all countries.

Cooperation Organization Secretary-General Wu Xuan released achievements and cooperation agreements.

 

 

　　Since 2016, the Cooperation Organization has held six Global Energy Internet Conferences; this year marks the 7th. The theme of this conference is "Global Energy Internet: Meeting Global Electricity Demand in a Clean and Green Way," jointly hosted by the Cooperation Organization, UNDP, UNECE, UN ESCWA, UNIDO, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, the Latin American Energy Organization, and other institutions. Nearly a thousand guests from over 100 countries worldwide participated.

　　During the conference, the Cooperation Organization released several research results including the "Global Power Development Transformation Report 2025," "Global Energy Internet Development and Outlook 2025," and "Energy Green Development Promoting Global South Modernization," and signed cooperation agreements with eight institutions including UNDP and the Asian Development Bank.

　　The 24 parallel forums focused on eight major directions: digital intelligence future, energy interconnection, market policies, industrial equipment, climate environment, technological innovation, green finance, and energy transition, conducting in-depth exchanges and discussions, forming a series of outcomes to contribute new ideas and solutions for promoting sustainable development.

 

 

　　Before the conference began, Vice President Han Zheng toured the achievement exhibition booths and interacted with representatives of participating organizations and enterprises. Enterprises and institutions such as State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, Huaneng Group, Huadian Group, China Three Gorges Corporation, Dongfang Electric, PowerChina, China Electric Equipment, China Green Development, Huawei, Shaanxi Investment Group, LONGi Green Energy, Weisen Holdings, China Electric Construction Association, and USTC participated in the achievement exhibition.
